Treatment Options

Supportive Care:

Immediate medical attention is necessary in the case of an overdose. Treatment includes maintaining the airway, providing respiratory support, and monitoring cardiovascular function.

Antidote:

Naloxone (Narcan) is the antidote for opioid overdose and can reverse the life-threatening effects of AH-7921. Due to its potency, multiple doses of naloxone may be required to counteract an overdose.

Pharmacokinetics and Dynamics

Metabolism: 

Metabolized primarily in the liver, likely involving the cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzyme system, and excreted via the kidneys.

Drug-Drug Interactions:

Significant potential for dangerous interactions with other CNS depressants, such as alcohol, benzodiazepines, and other opioids, leading to increased sedation and risk of respiratory depression.
