Routes of Administration and Effects

Administration: Common routes include oral ingestion, nasal insufflation (snorting), intravenous (IV) injection, sublingual (SL) administration, and smoking.

Dosage and Effects: Due to its high potency, even small doses can produce strong opioid effects.

Effects:

  • Opioid Effects: Similar to fentanyl, including intense analgesia, euphoria, sedation, and severe respiratory depression.

  • Adverse Effects: High risk of overdose and death due to its potent respiratory depressant effects. Other side effects may include drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and constipation.
