Nitrazolam:
A high-potency triazolobenzodiazepine (TBZD), meaning it belongs to the benzodiazepine class but with a triazole ring modification, similar to alprazolam (Xanax) and triazolam (Halcion). It has potent sedative, anxiolytic (anti-anxiety), muscle relaxant, and anticonvulsant properties but has never been approved for medical use.

Nitrazolam is significantly more potent than diazepam (Valium) and alprazolam. A single 0.5 mg dose can be as strong as 5–10 mg of diazepam, making it a highly powerful sedative.
