Description and Classification
Acetylfentanyl: A synthetic opioid and a potent analog of fentanyl. It is chemically similar to fentanyl but has an acetyl group attached to the nitrogen atom of the piperidine ring.
Relative Potency
Potency: Acetylfentanyl is approximately 5 to 15 times more potent than heroin and about 3 to 5 times less potent than fentanyl. Despite being less potent than fentanyl, it still poses a significant risk of overdose and death.

Acetylfentanyl is added to illicit drug formulations to mimic the powerful effects of fentanyl. It is often used to increase the potency of street drugs like heroin or as a substitute for fentanyl itself.
